At Hotel Urban 5*GL we recognise that the activities of our hotel have the potential to generate negative impacts on the environment and the community if not properly managed. That is why we have implemented an Environmental Management System that complies with the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard.

Hotel Urban 5*GL is committed to continuous improvement and therefore undergoes annual Benchmarking Evaluations. Our hotel team strives to minimise our environmental impact by implementing sustainable measures aimed at improving hotel performance, reducing Energy and Water consumption, and minimising Waste generation.

Hotel Urban 5*GL will comply with all applicable legislation and regulations and aims to achieve best practice standards. We have appointed an EarthCheck Coordinator responsible for improving the hotel’s sustainability performance, and this is supported by the Green Team, which helps facilitate the management of all operational areas.

Special consideration is given to hiring and providing opportunities for local employees, and wherever possible, sustainable products and services are sourced in the local market in accordance with Fair Trade principles. We encourage staff to communicate our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to all key stakeholders, including guests, suppliers and contractors.

In 2026, Hotel Urban 5*GL has received the EARTHCHECK SILVER CERTIFIED accreditation, the world’s leading environmental certification and benchmarking programme for the travel and tourism industry.
